The wave of foreign capital flowing into U.S. real estate is poised for a record-setting year.
“We have strong inbound capital that we believe will see the U.S. exceed the previous peak of 2007 by year-end,” says Lucy Fletcher, vice president of international capital group and capital markets with real estate services firm JLL. As of mid-year, JLL estimates total cross-border investment in U.S. property at $24.1 billion, compared to the $23.6 billion recorded during the full year of 2014.

Mesa and Sahuarita are among the best places to live in America, according to Money magazine’s latest rankings.
Mesa was rated the best big city in the Southwest, and Sahuarita was ranked the 29th best place overall.
Apex, N.C., located 15 miles southwest of Raleigh, took top honors.
Such rankings are always subjective, but the Arizona cities likely won’t second guess Money’s methodology.
The magazine drew on 39 data sets looking at jobs, the economy, housing affordability, education, health, crime, arts and leisure and ease of living.
Mesa was recognized as one of the five best big cities in the country and topped the Southwest region.
The magazine noted that Phoenix and Tucson have more people and Scottsdale has better golf. But “Mesa can hold its own in both categories, and it beats them all in one key way — it’s a great, affordable city for raising a family.
“One prime reason: education. Of the 51 schools that earned the Arizona Educational Foundation’s A+ designation this year, nine were in Mesa.”
